Our Story
Across Nigeria and Africa, millions of young people possess intelligence, energy and ambition but lack access to practical, industry-relevant training. At the same time, the automotive industry continues to struggle with shortages of properly trained technicians, rapidly changing vehicle technologies and limited pathways from learning to meaningful employment.
Automotive Technical Academy was founded to close this gap.
ATA began with a clear conviction: technical education must produce competence—not merely certificates.
The Academy was established by automotive engineer, entrepreneur and people developer Andrew Eghonghon Uhioh, widely known as De Car Doctor. His experience in automotive repairs, technical training, business development and public automotive education revealed a recurring problem: many learners were taught what automotive systems do, but too few were trained to diagnose, repair, test and manage those systems independently.
ATA was created to change that reality.
We are developing a world-class automotive vocational institution where learning takes place through structured workshop practice, guided repetition, real job assignments, industrial exposure and measurable demonstration of competence.
Our educational philosophy is simple:
Education is the disciplined transformation of knowledge into competence, competence into innovation, innovation into leadership, and leadership into sustainable value for industry, society and future generations.
